The Alberta Project – Alberta Pledge

Alright, Alberta. We’re at a crossroads. The kind of moment where you either step up and get involved to make Alberta a better place to live or just keep on ranting at your phone. Those rants feel good for about 2 seconds, but seriously, they don’t do much else. I’m stepping up because I think Alberta deserves nice things—a booming economy AND a beautiful environment. Fiscal responsibility AND a government that actually plans ahead. Public safety AND personal freedom.

This isn’t about aligning with the left or the right; it’s about moving Alberta forward with practical solutions. We are The Alberta Project—a hub for balanced, thoughtful actions, free from extremes and political theatrics.

So here’s the deal. I, the undersigned totally rational and extremely good-looking person, hereby pledge to make Alberta an even better place to live.

My Reasonably Thought-Out Commitments

  • I put Alberta first and focus on the future.
Look, I get it. Nostalgia is nice. But I don’t want Alberta to be that guy who peaked in high school and won’t stop talking about “the good old days.” Let’s build a future that works, instead of waiting for 1984 to magically come back.
  • I support economic strength through innovation and competitiveness.
The old “dig it up, ship it out” model? It’s fine, I guess. But how about we ALSO invest in new industries? You know, like a province that actually wants to exist in 2050? Alberta should be the place where people come to build their dreams, not where ideas go to die in a swamp of red tape. We need to unleash our inner entrepreneur AND cut the nonsense that slows us down.
  • I commit to fiscal responsibility AND forward-thinking governance.
Budgets shouldn’t be written like an eight-year-old’s Christmas wish list. Spend smart, plan ahead, and make sure Alberta’s economy is built to last through good times AND bad. No more “oops, we didn’t see that coming” excuses.
  • I will work to remove barriers to opportunity.
If it’s easier to sell beer to Montana than to Manitoba, we need to have a serious talk. Internal trade barriers are dumb. Let’s fix that.
  • I will advocate for a stronger Alberta within Canada.
Alberta: the economic engine of Canada. But sometimes it feels like we’re getting a pat on the head instead of a seat at the table. I support Alberta getting a fair deal AND a country that actually works for everyone.
  • I pledge to respect the environment AND future generations.
“We can’t afford to go green.” Sure. And the Titanic couldn’t afford more lifeboats. Look, we can do both—grow the economy AND take care of the planet. Alberta should be leading in clean energy, responsible resource management, and keeping this place gorgeous for our grandkids.
  • I am committed to truth and reconciliation.
Everyone has a responsibility to take action to support Indigenous rights, economic inclusion, and self-determination. There are no quick fixes here, we’re in it for the long run.
  • I will promote a civil, inclusive, and dynamic society.
Alberta is for everyone. We can have public safety AND harm reduction. We can have strong communities AND personal freedoms. Let’s be the kind of province that’s welcoming, safe, and full of opportunity. And we CAN all just chill for five minutes and stop yelling at each other.
  • I support excellence in education and workforce development.
You know what’s better than producing the next wave of Instagram influencers? Producing the next wave of doctors, engineers, and problem solvers. Let’s give public schools the funding they need to actually do that.
  • I pledge to prioritize health and well-being for all.
A healthy Alberta is a strong Alberta. We need better mental health care AND access to senior’s home care. And maybe—just maybe—let’s fix the ER wait times so you don’t need to bring a sleeping bag and a packed lunch just to see a doctor.
  • I recognize that running a province isn’t easy.
Knee-jerk solutions that fix one problem while causing two new ones? Yeah, no thanks. The real world is funny that way—things are connected. Good policy means thinking ahead, weighing trade-offs, and making sure we’re not just playing political Whack-a-Mole.
  • I will uphold transparency, accountability, and leadership.
Government should work for the people, not the other way around. No backroom deals, no vague promises, no sketchy decision-making. I support policies that keep things clear, fair, and honest. Because, you know, that’s how things are supposed to work.

The Call to Action

I’m all in on Alberta’s future. If you are too, let’s make this happen. Join me—whether you’re a business leader, a policy nerd, an entrepreneur, or just someone who cares about this province. Let’s make Alberta a place where people dream big AND actually get things done.

We are The Alberta Project —a place for people who are tired of the nonsense and ready for real solutions. If that sounds like your kind of thing, welcome aboard.

I don’t want to just talk about change. I want to be part of it. Alberta CAN have it all. And I pledge to help make that happen. Let’s roll up our sleeves, get started, and prove that common sense isn’t extinct—it’s just been waiting for a comeback.
